J Noa has released her brand-new single “Era de Cristal.”

The Dominican rap prodigy’s new track was produced by Trooko and focuses on common problems faced by adolescents — such as mental health, happiness and the anxiety of living in a world where suffering seems inevitable.

The music video was directed by Lennyn Salinas and was filmed in the Dominican Republic’s capital, Santo Domingo, with gritty visuals bringing the track’s hard-hitting lyrics to life.

J Noa earned her first Latin Grammy nomination for Best Rap/ Hip Hop Song  for her debut EP Autodidacta with her lightning-fast rap delivery articulating the realities of her homeland.

Autodidacta was released last year — featuring the tracks ‘No Me Pueden Parar‘ and ‘Betty‘ — and features the self-proclaimed “daughter of rap” using her lyrics to talk about growing up as a Black woman in one of the toughest neighborhoods in Santo Domingo and being a female in the male-dominated rap game.

J Noa is set to present four showcases at the prestigious SXSW music festival in Austin, Texas, next month before supporting the reggae, funk and salsa band Rawayana across their tour of the U.K. and Europe this April — taking in stops in Berlin, Munich, Paris and London.

The star previously declared her intention to “revive rap” with her “intentional” lyrics.

“I feel like I came to revive rap. To me, most rappers should be intentional about what they write, about what they recite. Otherwise, why would rap serve them, or why would they be considered rappers if they don’t live the reality of what they’re rapping about?” J Noa told Rolling Stone last year.
