Mase took a blowtorch to Shannon Sharpe for calling him a “fake pastor” and “gangsta pastor” on his “Club Shay Shay” podcast this past week.
The beef between Mason “Mase” Durell Betha, 48, and Sharpe, 55, emanates from Mase’s criticisms of the NFL legend after the former Denver Broncos tight end took offense to the homosexual insinuations that comedian Mike Epps made about him during his comedy show.
Epps, 53, made Sharpe the butt of his jokes by comparing him to Wendy Williams and Madea for his proclivity to facilitate famous folks going off on their contemporaries without interruption. This happened most famously in the case of comedians Katt Williams in January and Mo’Nique in February. Williams’ episode garnered 60 million views — making it one of the most popular podcast episodes of all time, an Mo’Nique raked in 12 million views.
Mase responded forcefully to Sharpe’s criticisms that he is a “fake” and “gangsta” pastor.
“N—- is too grown to be wrestling. Y’all n—as doing all this curling. Go ahead if you want. I see you doing your dips and all that. I know you on set number eight. He did 84 pull-ups.”
The former Diddy protegé and Bad Boy label member ended his comments by saying, “It’s satire.”
Mase responds to Shannon Sharpe and asks why Shannon Sharpe gets aggressive with Black people when they say something about him but didn't do anything to Skip Bayless.

Mase among several who clapped back at Sharpe
Multiple people have flamed Sharpe for allowing people to just sit and impugn the character of their counterparts without critical questioning from Sharpe, including comedian D.L. Hughley and rapper Mase.
“Your boy chose to target me about the sets and the working out and all that. He called me a fake pastor and all that. I want to address it,” he told Cam on their own “It is What it Is” podcast. “Listen Shannon, I’m not the one to play with.
“If you are for Black people, this is not the way to carry yourself,” Mase continued.
The “Welcome Back” rapper slammed how Sharpe handled his misunderstanding with Epps. “You wanted to be tough with Mike Epps, and you settled quicker than Diddy and Cassie,” he said, referencing how Diddy settled Cassie’s civil sexual lawsuit within 24 hours of it going public.
“You showed poise, respect, wherewithal, resolve, compassion, and reverence with Skip Bayless,” Mase continued. “Why are you so aggressive anytime anybody Black say something?
“The man [Bayless] said, ‘Put your glasses on,’ and you put your glasses back on. Don’t play with me. Put your glasses back on, Shannon. I respect you and I do not want to go there with you.”
Mase concluded the tongue-lashing by calling Sharpe “ignorant.”
“He said I’m a pastor-gangster or something like that. And I would tell him, for your spiritual comment, that was ignorant because if you know anything about faith, all the people that were apostles and pastors, they died horrific deaths, they went to jail, they were hung upside-down. So it’s as gangster as you could be when it talks about doing for others and being tough,” Mase said.
Mase also goes after Larsa Pippen
The rapper also had a few words about Larsa Pippen, 49, after she temporarily broke up with 33-year-old Marcus Jordan
“How dare she have any rebuttal for taking a man 16 years younger than you and acting like he’s the problem,” Ma$e began. “You’re the adult! What are you talking about?
“Ain’t you Scottie’s ex wife? Now you mad with the Pippens and the Jordans? You got no future in Chicago, I can tell you that. You mad with Batman and Robin and now Baby Batman? This is really embarrassing. What was you thinking? Your kids grew up with this boy! Somebody gotta tell people the truth.”
Mase also accused Pippen of exploiting Jordan for her own benefit.
“You were taking advantage of him,” he added. “I really don’t like this situation. And then gon’ delete all his pictures like he’s the problem. Larsa, you’re not 21. You’re not Lori Harvey. You gotta stop this.”
