“Comic View” is back!

BET’s classic stand-up comedy showcase will soon find itself back on the airwaves after a 16-year hiatus.

Scheduled to air on BET+, the revamped series was filmed last year in Las Vegas as part of Kevin Hart’s Hartbeat Weekend and will feature four new episodes hosted by Mike Epps.

Executive produced by Hart, Epps, and BET’s Angela Aguilera and Tiffany Williams, the series will feature veteran talent such as Tommy Davidson and Tony Roberts along with younger stars like DC Young Fly, Bresha Webb, Jayski, Navy Greene, and Tacarra Williams among others. Also of note, rapper T.I. will make his televised debut as a stand-up comic on the show.

Debuting in 1992, “Comic View” proved to be a launchpad for many black comedians at the time, often giving them their first ever national television audience. Throughout the years, a who’s who of legendary comics including Kings of Comedy alum D.L. Hughley and Cedric The Entertainer served as host of the show in addition to Kevin Hart and Sommore before the program was ended in 2008, save for a brief re-boot from 2012-2014.

The present day version of “Comic View” will make its debut on BET+ on March 14.
