Ledisi’s The Good Life tour began in York, PA earlier this week in support of her new album, Good Life, which was released on digital platforms on March 1 and will be available in stores on March 15. The 14-time Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter made her second stop on the international tour at NJPAC in Newark, New Jersey, on Thursday night performing a set list of 20 songs that included songs from the new album and also from her massive catalog of singles that combine rhythm and blues, soul, and jazz.

Ledisi, who became an honorary member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. in 2021, represented the Deltas by wearing an elegant red dress and joined on stage by two guitarists, a drummer, a keyboardist, and two background singers. She performed some of her biggest hits, including “Goin’ Thru Changes,” “Pieces of Me,” and her chart-topping “Anything For You.” Some of her classics were performed with an acoustic guitar and two background singers.

Ledisi, whose name means to bring forth in Yoruba, also performed what she hopes will be future hits from the new project, including “The Good Life,” “Magic,” “Hello Love” and “Good Year.”

Raheem DeVaughn, who was born in Newark, received a warm welcome for his creative opening set that included several unconventional props during his performance. The three-time Grammy nominee, who was very interactive with the audience, including leaving the stage for one song, performed some of his biggest singles, including “Customer,” “Woman,” and “You.”

DeVaughn and BJ The Chicago Kid split opening duties on the Good Life tour, which will also make tour stops in Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Charlotte, Detroit, and the Theater at MGM National Harbor in Maryland. Visit Ledisi.com to purchase tickets, the new album, and for additional information.

Upcoming shows at Newark’s NJPAC include singers Musiq Soulchild and Eric Benet headlining on April 12, comedian Deon Cole on April 13, Omarion on April 14, and iconic singer Diana Ross on May 17. Visit NJPAC.org for more information and to purchase tickets.
