As the leader of The Sheena Baker Group at Keller Williams Innovate, she leads a team of three other licensed agents who share her passion for real estate excellence and community empowerment. Her team consists of a director of operations, buyer’s specialist and an independent licensed broker.
Over the years, she has consistently achieved remarkable success, averaging 70 to 80 home sales annually. Her highest year saw her selling 91 homes and achieving over $25 million in personal production. Baker’s accomplishments are numerous and prestigious, including being the former president of the Women’s Council of Realtors West Suburban Network. She also received the Quad County African American Chamber of Commerce’s Aspiring Entrepreneur Award in 2018 and was featured in Chicago Agent Magazine‘s “Who’s Who” from 2016 to 2023, gracing the cover in 2020. Additionally, she was honored with the Class of 20 under 40 by the Mainstreet Association of Realtors in 2021.

What is the creative vision for your business and brand?
At the core of my business is a visionary approach centered on empowering the community and fulfilling the dreams of individuals seeking homeownership. My creative vision stems from the belief that everyone deserves the chance to own a place they can truly call home. I want to help the community fulfill their aspirations of homeownership, whether it’s their first home, or building their investment portfolio.
How would you describe your brand?
My brand embodies excellence, unwavering dedication to client satisfaction, and a strong commitment to community service. Through my outstanding work in real estate and active involvement in community initiatives, I have established myself as a leader who excels professionally while uplifting those around me. Recently, I was honored with the 2024 Leader of the Year Award from the city of Aurora and featured on HGTV’s “House Hunters.” My goal is to continue to serve my community and bring more positive attention to my city through my brand.

What is your backstory?
My journey began at the age of 19, when I decided to invest in my first home. My family and friends gravitated to the idea of homeownership once I paved the way. This ignited a passion that propelled me into a successful career in real estate, driven by a commitment to community engagement and service. Becoming a licensed realtor at the age of 24, I became a driving force to many others, whether it be family, friends or colleagues.
Was it a deliberate decision or a gradual and natural evolution to start a business?
My entry into the real estate sector was not accidental but a purposeful choice driven by my desire to create more opportunities for homeownership and make a meaningful impact in my community and family. Once I bought my own home and understood the process, I knew it was something I needed to do to better help my family and community. My journey exemplifies the power of intentionality and dedication, overcoming obstacles to stand where I am today, serving my community and inspiring others.
What key skills or qualities make you unique as an African American leader?
As an African American leader, I distinguish myself through my dedication to my craft, excellence in real estate, commitment to community and a legacy that I hope inspires aspiring leaders. Recently being honored at The Woman’s Empowerment Summit by the Quad County Urban League, I actively support my community and will do my best to continue to serve as a role model.
What is your commitment to the community?
My commitment to community empowerment is important and necessary to my professional ethics, evident in my efforts to support the community through real estate and active participation in various organizations and boards. My impact extends beyond real estate [and] resonates deeply within my community, including roles on boards such as the Mainstreet Association of Realtors and Quad County African American Chamber of Commerce.
How important is technology in day-to-day operations?
Technology is essential in streamlining my daily operations, facilitating efficient client management, strategic marketing, seamless property listings and team communication. Embracing technology has enhanced the effectiveness and reach of my business operations significantly. I embrace customer relationship management (CRM) systems, virtual tour software, online marketing platforms and mobile apps to communicate effectively, stay organized and offer a seamless experience to my clients.

I leverage technology strategically, using digital tools and platforms to streamline client management, execute marketing campaigns, offer virtual property tours and facilitate communication with my team and clients. This approach reflects my commitment to staying ahead of industry trends and enhancing the client experience.

I look forward to growth, expanding services and deeper community engagement to empower more individuals to achieve homeownership. I will continue to network and connect meaningful relationships. The future holds exciting prospects for furthering my vision within the real estate landscape and outside of the real estate landscape. I envision teaching classes, publishing books, mentoring and much more for myself and The Sheena Baker Group.
