Fans of STARZ’s hit show, “P-Valley” know Jucee Froot’s iconic theme song “Down In The Valley” pretty well, but the title is about to get a whole new meaning.

Serving as something of a companion piece to the popular series, “Down in the Valley” the docu-series will shine a light on life in the deep-south and give viewers an up-close look at the various aspects of the culture that make the south so unique from the church to the strip clubs and everything in between.

Nicco Annan, who portrays Uncle Clifford on the show, will serve as host of the six episode series and says he’s looking forward guiding viewers through all of the culture’s intricacies.

“I can’t wait for ya’ll to get a taste of this fiercely unpredictable, deep-dive dance into Southern culture,” Annan says. “It’s a black mirror of sorts.”

“P-Valley” creator and Pulitzer Prize winner winner Katori Hall will executive produce the series along with Emmy and Peabody award-winning executive producer Shoshana Guy along with Zero Point Zero productions.

“Down in the Valley” is set to premiere on STARZ on July 5.
