The National Black Business League and The National Black Chamber of Commerce came together to produce an amazing 3-day conference with almost 50 speakers and representation from close to 30 countries. It was capped off with a powerful closing night awards gala that literally spanned the globe.
National Black Business League (NBBL) founder Booker T Washington would have been proud and amazed at the success of the organization in bringing together such a wide Pan African community. There were many African nations represented at the conference and at the Gala. Dr Ken Harris, the current president of the NBBL had his DNA tested on African Ancestry and proudly displayed the results showing his maternal biological connection to the Mafa people of Cameroon. The president of Cameroon sent a person invitation for Dr. Harris to come visit.
The African American Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey (AACCNJ), under the leadership of its president, Mr. John Harmon, was selected to receive “The Chamber of the Year Award” for the significant impact they have provided to the success of Black businesses across New Jersey.
The Mayor of mayors and founder of the Conference of Black Mayors, Johnny Ford himself was presented several awards for his lifetime of achievements in the political arena.
