The hosts of the “The Breakfast Club” said they were absolutely stunned to see how broken Drake looked after being trounced by Kendrick Lamar in their historic rap battle earlier this year.

The overwhelming majority of fans, industry analysts and media outlets agree that Lamar dismantled Drake in the hip-hop battle for the ages in the spring of 2024, punctuated by the all-time classic club anthem “Not Like Us” that was ubiquitous throughout the summer.

Charlamagne said he didn’t know that Drake lost THIS badly

“I’m going to be honest. I thought that Kendrick’s execution of this battle was flawless — the strategy, the songs, everything. But I didn’t think that it had that much impact on Drake,” an astonished Charlamagne tha God said on the Oct. 7 episode. “Drake [is] hurting! Oh my God!”

Charlamagne referred to Drizzy’s appearance at Tyrone Edwards’ Nostalgia Party in his Toronto hometown. He and co-host DJ Envy thought Drake’s soliloquy about fake friends and being stabbed in the back was troublesome but also indicated how much Drake is “hurting” from being vanquished so thoroughly by Lamar.

Drake also unfollowed superstars like LeBron James

“The Breakfast Club” also pointed out that Drizzy unfollowed several high-profile athletes who attended Kendrick Lamar’s Juneteenth concert in Los Angeles, including former close friend and NBA superstar LeBron James as well as DeMar DeRozan.

“You can’t go on an ‘unfollows parade’ and then go on stage and cry about not having [any] real friends — or whatever that was about — and then go onto Beyoncé’s ‘Me, Myself & I’ [song],” Charlamagne said.

When DJ Envy tried to play devil’s advocate and pointed out that Charlamagne hosted a panel where men expressed their emotions, Charlamagne quickly swatted that away.

“You can’t show that [kind of emotion] after getting your a– kicked like that in a rap battle,” Charlamagne retorted. “When I tell you that Kendrick Lamar put his foot all the way up Drake’s a–, and he is wiggling his toes.”

“I knew that Kendrick Lamar won the battle. But I didn’t know that [Lamar] kicked his a– like this,” Charlamagne continued as the co-hosts laughed. “I knew that [Lamar] won. But this man [Drake] is hurting!”
