Sean “Diddy” Combs is trying for the third time to be released on bond from one of the most notorious federal detainment facilities in the country.
Following an exhaustive, multi-pronged investigation and federal raid, Diddy was indicted in September 2024 by a federal grand jury on sex trafficking, racketeering and prostitution charges. He was arrested and then remanded to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, an agency within the U.S. Department of Justice.
Since then, the disgraced music mogul has taken pains to show the court that he can be trusted to be released on bail, but his legal applications for bond have been denied twice.
On the third attempt, according to legal reporter Meghann Cuniff, Diddy, 54, is offering the following for his release to his home in Miami until his trial:
- The suggested $50 million bail package includes sufficient restrictions to address witness tampering or fleeing concerns expressed by the DOJ’s attorneys;
-
Diddy has agreed to limit visitors to only family members;
-
No female visitors allowed;
-
Diddy has offered to continue efforts to sell his private jet;
-
He will void contact with grand jury witnesses;
-
The mogul agrees to undergo weekly drug tests.
As it stands, Diddy remains jailed at the Metropolitan Correctional Facility in the Brooklyn borough of New York.
