Since his debut in the late 1990s, Lil Wayne has been one of the most important hip-hop artists in the world. From being a superstar behind the mic who has collaborated with Jay Z, Kanye West, T.I., and Destiny’s Child while signed to Cash Money Records, to mentoring hip hop superstars Drake and Nicki Minaj while still recording himself with his Young Money Entertainment, his impact is immeasurable.
Lil Wayne performed some of his greatest hits in front of a very diverse crowd on Oct. 12 at Mohegan Sun Arena at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, CT. The man born Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. performed many of his solo hits, including “How To Love,” “A Milli,” “Uproar,” “Fireman” and “I’m Single.” He was very appreciative of the crowd and demonstrated it by thanking them after most of the songs, while periodically taking breaks to smoke and drink water.
The New Orleans native also performed his verses on many of his collaborative hits, including “Mr. Carter,” John,” Mrs. Officer,” “She Will,” “Loyal,” “Pop That” and his number one hit on the Billboard charts, “Lollipop.”
Lil Wayne resumes his October mini-tour in Columbus, Ohio on Oct. 17 and Oct. 19 in Milwaukee.
Sun BrewFest Weekend takes place Oct. 25 and 26, and Gladys Knight & The O’Jays perform on Nov. 16.
