D.L. Hughley has been a comedic star for more than 30 years. The Portsmouth, Va., native was the original host of BET’s “Comic View,” starred in the sitcom “The Hughleys,” and was perhaps best known as one of the four the Original Kings of Comedy, along with Steve Harvey, Cedric the Entertainer, and Bernie Mac, who toured together and released a film by the same name directed by Spike Lee and currently hosts “the D.L. Hughley Show Podcast.” Hughley’s frequent discussions about politics on his podcast led to his appearance at last year’s Democratic National Convention, in which he apologized to former Vice President Kamala Harris for spewing misinformation about her.
Hughley regularly tours and was recently at City Winery New York in New York City for five shows. Some of the show’s highlights were his jokes about current events, including Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime show, DEI, President Donald Trump, the legal troubles of New York City Mayor Eric Adams, and singer Bobby Brown. Hughley also heavily interacted with the crowd, making jokes about relationships and occupations.
Hughley’s upcoming itinerary
Hughley will soon perform at the Pittsburgh Improv in Pittsburgh, the Houston Improv in Houston, and Huntsville, Ala.

One of Black music’s biggest DJs, Funkmaster Flex, will host his regular “the biggest R&B Dinner Party” on Friday, Feb. 21. Former Blackstreet member and R&B singer Dave Hollister will take the stage on March 7 for two shows. Soul singer Avery*Sunshine will perform on March 16 and 17. Comedian Kym Whitley will bring the funny on March 21. Donnell Rawlings will hit the stage on March 28 and 29 for four shows.
