On this season of “Basketball Wives LA,” fans have watched Laura Govan transform from the show’s resident hothead into a cunning and mischievous villain as she masterminds a thorough trap to bring down her archrival (and everyone’s favorite cat member to hate), Jackie Christie. And though Govan (and her fans) have yet to see her evil plan all the way through, Govan is now opening up about her beef with Christie and saying that it’s taught her some valuable life lessons.
In a new interview with HipHollywood.com, Govan talked about her motives for going after Christie. In season one of the show, Christie’s fabricated stories about the ladies nearly tore them all apart and Govan was even made to look like the enemy at one point. And Govan says that she wanted Christie to suffer the same scrutiny that she did.
“My biggest thing was, ‘you are definitely going to feel how I felt,’ ” said Govan. “You’re going to get the wrath that I got.”
However, Govan’s plan took an unexpected turn when she met with Christie’s daughter, Chantel, and got a personal account of the dysfunction that plague’s Christie’s home life and has ultimately scarred her daughters and their view of their mother.
“It changed,” said Laura. “It took away from my evil side. It made me realize what life is really about. It was a lesson. I got a lesson, and I’m thankful for that lesson.”
But, Govan maintains that she doesn’t regret scheming against Christie.
“No, I needed that lesson. I got it, and it was good,” said Govan, though she admits that she and Christie will never be close after this. “Jackie and I are definitely cordial. Will we be friends? No, never.”
Though Govan’s evil scheme against Christie is definitely unique, she’s not the only famous villain in reality TV. Check out some other bad girls below. –nicholas robinson
