Chilli starts online petition to stop cyberbullying of her son

Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas may be small, but she’s not scared. Pebbles realized this when Thomas helped produced the record-breaking VH1 biopic “CrazySexyCool” a couple of weeks ago.

Now MediaTakeout is also on notice after being on the receiving end of the TLC veteran’s wrath after the entertainment blog mocked her 16-year-old son because of his alleged sexual ambiguity. The site basically was making fun of Chilli’s son’s sexuality and so-called effeminate appearance because he looks like his famous mother.

Chilli, who is often the object of rumors and innuendos about her own personal life, said the entertainment blog crossed the line when it targeted her son. She let MediaTakeout and other blogs know emphatically that her son is absolutely off limits from jokes, badgering and cyber-bullying. And she filed a petition via Change.org to get her point across unequivocally.

The petition, in part, reads:

Most of you know me as a member of the group TLC, but everyone who knows me personally knows being a MOM is my number one priority. The health and safety of my son means more to me that any accomplishment or achievement I’ve received being an entertainer. Recently my son was targeted negatively by popular gossip site MediaTakeOut.com. I can’t describe the anger I felt at my son being ridiculed continuously by MediaTakeOut.com for no other reason than the fact that he’s my son.

MediaTakeOut.com has posted numerous false stories about me, and other celebrity friends of mine and while I don’t like it, I realize that is a part of what comes with celebrity. However when my 16-year-old son is being attacked, that is when I take off the celebrity hat and become the protective Mother that I am, and I know many of you are.

MediaTakeout founder Fred Mwangaguhunga has reportedly offered Chilli a mea culpa for the post attacking her son and immediately took the corresponding story off their website. The petition, which had just begun, has already garnered well in access of 1,000 signatures and has received the support of fellow celebrities.
