Ledisi interview
Ledisi recently dished to rolling out about her high profile fan club that includes President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama. The first family is so enamored by the chanteuse that she was personally invited to perform for the first lady’s 50th birthday party, that also featured performances from Beyoncé, John Legend and Stevie Wonder. Clearly a White House personal favorite, Ledisi has performed for the Obamas a whopping six times.
“Receiving this support, especially from our president and first lady, is amazing,” said Ledisi. “They’re beautiful people and I was able to celebrate the first lady’s birthday. The president asked me to come celebrate; it was beautiful. I felt like I was part of their family.
In addition to speaking on her connection with the commander in chief, Ledisi detailed her new look that includes a svelte new figure.
“I just wanted to be healthier and I was letting go of a lot things. [My weight loss] it resulted from the inside and came out. When you’re happier on the inside it shows,” said Ledisi.
“I hate exercise so I started working out in a different way, which is a Hip-Hop in Heels class , with my friend Brandee Evans and that was fun.”
