Rotimi: Hollywood's 'Triple Threat' on the Rise
Rotimi

Rotimi has a presence that you don’t soon forget, and Hollywood has taken notice. For starters, the New Jersey native is what the Hollywood industry labels a triple threat because of multiple talents as a singer, songwriter and actor.

As a music artist, Jay-Z described Rotimi as one to watch, and he has worked alongside many of today’s industry heavyweights, including T.I., N.E.R.D. and Estelle.

As an actor, Rotimi has landed a recurring role in the critically acclaimed television series, “Boss.” On the show, Rotimi portrays the love interest of Kelsey Grammer’s daughter, Hannah Ware.

Rotimi is currently shooting “Boss” in Chicago, where he spent some time with rolling out.

How does filming compare with creating music?
They both require a lot of creativity, freedom, passion and attention. Music will always be my number one, but acting allows me to express emotions that I normally wouldn’t express. Acting is also something that I have to apply myself to and study, and I love to learn, so it fits. Plus, it helps to be mentored by Kelsey Grammer and the rest of the “Boss” cast. I take them both very serious[ly] and want to attain success in both respectively.

What is your average day like?

Rotimi is a singer, songwriter and actor.

Wake up, work out, check in with my team [publicist and assistant] watch ESPN, study lines, pray. [Then I] head to studio if I’m needed on the set, followed by either a show performance or [I] hang out with my friends.

How do you relax when you’re not on the grind?
I am always on the grind … no breaks [laughs]. I honestly try to keep myself as busy as I possibly can. However, on the days that I do have free time, I’m usually watching ESPN, a movie or just working out.

What are you most looking forward to within the next year?
This year I am hoping to attain success in both music and acting.I want to continue to grow my fan base with music, and God willing, land my first movie role.

What are you looking for in a mate?
A woman that I am looking for is one who is ambitious, understanding, God-fearing, beautiful and my foundation. That’s the ultimate queen.

Rotimi can be seen on “Boss” this fall (check your local listings). For more information about his music projects, visit www.RotimiMusic.com.
