Lil Boosie’s prison release has been unexpectedly delayed

It was widely reported in January that incarcerated rapper Lil Boosie would be released from Louisiana State Penentientary in mid-February. But music journalist Jeff Weiss posted on Twitter this weekend that Boosie, born Torrence Hatch, won’t be leaving prison as soon as was expected. According to Weiss, Boosie will not be released in February after all.

Embattled Louisiana rapper Lil Boosie is getting even closer to coming home. Boosie is reportedly now scheduled to be released from Louisiana State Penitentiary on February 13th, 2014. According to numerous reports, his having successfully completed a substance abuse class has helped expedite his release.

Rapper-singer Lauryn Hill has been released from prison after serving her three month sentence for failing to file tax returns. The former Fugee served her time at the federal prison in Danbury, Connecticut, a minimum security facility. Hill pleaded guilty to failing to pay taxes on more than $1.8 million earned between 2005 and 2007.
