It’s been over a year since Kenya Moore and Phaedra Parks’ husband, Apollo Nida, played with fire and nearly got burned when Moore took their flirty friendship to the next level by texting Nida behind Parks’ back. But the backlash of Moore’s actions are still going strong in the season of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” as the entire cast is now questioning and confronting Moore about the texts. Now, in a new interview, Parks explains why she waited so long to turn up the heat on Moore and why there’s more to the story than people think.
In a recent interview with E!, Parks explains that she knew about Moore’s inappropriate text messages long before the “Gone With The Wind Fabulous” diva announced them to the cast during last season’s reunion.
“He called me immediately. It was frightening to him. Frankly, it was shocking to both of us that she would even make such a proposition,” said Moore about Nida.
Although Moore was initially the one to claim that the messages were inappropriate, she recentlt began backpedalling and claiming there was nothing sexual about the texts, despite Nida’s claim that she offered to “do to you what your wife won’t do,” including fellatio.
And although Parks had the perfect opportunity to fully confront Moore about the texts during the reunion, she explains that she held back for the sake of her baby.
“I always make sure to stay as tranquil as possible because whatever goes into my spirit goes into my baby’s spirit as well,” she said. “I didn’t address it then because it wasn’t appropriate for me or my health or my sanity or my baby. I definitely said I’d address it at the appropriate time and we touched on it at the reunion show, but obviously now, several months later, we’re addressing it again.”
Even now, Parks seems less than distressed by Moore’s texts, but she does claim that she and Moore will never be friends again.
“I hope to be cordial with Kenya. Look, I’m mature enough to be in a room with anyone, and at the end of the day, because of the show, we will obviously have to be around each other. So, I would like things to be cordial. Now, I’m not saying we’re going to be best friends. I don’t see that happening. Ever,” she said.
