The hottest beauty show in the country is back for its highly anticipated 68th year. The 2015 Mid-Summer Bronner Bros. International Beauty Show will be the company’s most extravagant yet.
The Bronner Bros. Beauty Show is kicking everything up a notch this year, from moving to a more spacious exhibit hall in the Georgia World Congress Center, to inviting world-renowned stylists, notable celebrities, first-rate vendors, to hosting a brand new beauty competition, and much more. From Aug. 15-17, beauty industry courses, hands-on workshops, live demonstrations, and competitions will be held — with lots of lively entertainment mixed in.
Billionaire entrepreneur John Paul DeJoria, co-founder and chairman of Paul Mitchell Systems, will serve as one of the distinguished educators along with acclaimed celebrity stylists like Andre Walker, who styles Oprah Winfrey. Several of the most sought-after hair brands like Aveda and Mixed Chicks are set to attend, including major television networks like BET’s Centric, WE tv and Bravo.
With 22,000 attendees and 300 exhibitors, the show remains the largest gathering of multicultural beauty professionals in the U.S. and continues to exceed expectations year after year.
Rolling out spoke to James Bronner, senior vice president of trade show operations, about what else we can expect from the upcoming extravaganza.
Attendee competitions and exhibits
We have eight competitions, one new one that’s called The Ultimate Lash Battle. We’ve got 300 beauty-related exhibitors. Design Essentials will be there celebrating their 25th anniversary. I have Shea Moisture, Avlon, Aveda, FHI [Heat], Mixed Chicks — these are some of the key companies that will be there. We’ll have a main stage in the exhibit hall that will have presentations that will be fast-moving and very informative.
Celebrity Hair Battle
On Sunday evening, BET’s Centric will be taping for national airing — it’s called the first-time ever Celebrity Hair Battle. We will have four celebrity stylists, three celebrity judges, and a celebrity host, as well as celebrity audience members — with stylists that helped create the looks on “Empire.”
Cut Party
Also on Saturday evening, we are producing the world’s largest and hottest Cut Party, [which] is basically hair cutting, but it’s very extravagant hair-cutting, so one stylist will have scissors on her fingers cutting, one may be upside-down cutting, another is cutting blind-folded, and their all competing, with real pumped-up music, so it’s a real fun, exciting event. Kim Kimble and the cast of “L.A. Hair” will be there. Comedienne Wanda Smith will be hosting as well, and also Brooklyn Tankard from “Thicker Than Water” on Bravo.
Praise session
My brother, Bishop Dale Bronner [Word of Faith Family Worship Cathedral] will be doing the church service on that Sunday.
Bronner attested to just how much effort he, his family, and affiliates put into the show when asked how often he sleeps while putting together the event. “Not a whole lot, but I’ll sleep after the show,” he said.
