blondie- no exit
Eleven Seven Music
In 1999, Blondie reunited after a 17-year hiatus and released their first album of new material, No Exit. Although the gang gets an A for effort, the set lacks the energy of the group’s heyday. The album retains some of their classic elements with a little reggae and disco thrown in. “Screaming Skin” thinly echoes their classic “The Tide Is High,” and “Forgive & Forget” is a disco re-tread. The only standouts are “Maria” and “Dig Up the Conjo.” –dusty culpepper
