She’s even styled celebrities from Chrisette Michele to Solange Knowles in this fashion forward piece. Don’t worry about not knowing how to tie the turban, the celeb stylist gives step-by-step instructions in Ebony magazine’s May 2011 issue on how you can wear this trend. Turban Tying 101
Step 1: Use a large scarf that can fold into a triangle.
Step 2: Stick with patterns that are monochromatic and bold and highlight your skin tone.
Step 3: Treat your scarf like a towel after washing your hair, but tie it once at the front.
Step 4: Tuck the excess fabric at the base of your turban. The profile should look like a mohawk.
