Last week, rapper Joe Budden released the song “Ordinary Love S—Part. 3,” which candidly details his dysfunctional relationship and breakup with video vixen Esther Baxter and his subsequent arrest. Now, Baxter is sharing her side of the story concerning their rocky relationship, alleging that Budden was abusive and caused the miscarriage of their unborn daughter.
In the song, Budden raps, “I ain’t attack you, b—h I was restrainin’ you/But you was wifey, though I understand it was not a game/Could you imagine my surprise when the cops came/Handcuffed me, you pressed charges/But I made bail.”
Following the arrest, Baxter was given control for a week of the house that the pair shared while Budden stayed with his ex-girlfriend, Tahiry, also a video vixen. In the song, Budden alleges that Baxter cheated on him with NFL running back Derrick Ward, reveals that Baxter was at one time pregnant with identical twins and admits that Baxter experienced a miscarriage due to the incident.
In a video interview with bossip.com, Baxter shares her side of the incident, explaining that she and Budden got into an argument about the rapper flirting with other women on Twitter before he flew into a violent rage and attacked her, resulting in her miscarriage.
“He came into the room and grabbed me by my ankles and dragged me out of the room multiple times. And basically ended up choking me until I couldn’t breathe, slamming me up against the door,” Baxter explained. “I told him that if he didn’t stop I was going to call the police. So in an attempt to grab my phone from me, he threw me on the floor … and ended up just throwing me on my back and grabbing me by my wrist and sitting on my stomach for half an hour while I was screaming that I was pregnant.”
After becoming free to leave the house, Baxter went to the hospital where she learned of the miscarriage and filed charges against Budden, resulting in his arrest.
Baxter also sent multiple photos to Bossip that detail the alleged abuse.
After the story broke, Budden immediately went on Twitter to respond to the allegations.
“Apparently, all it takes is a few pics of rug burn to start a million women march, lol,” tweeted Budden. “[A]lright, u guys busted me, i’m the devil & was put here on a covert mission … can’t sneak 1 past u guys huh, lol … FOH”
