On Wednesday, July 20, 2011, I ventured out to the grand opening of a new sushi place called Maki Fresh. It was wall-to-wall people inside enjoying sample after sample of the Japanese cuisine. I’m not a big sushi lover like my son, but I thought to myself, “I will give it a try.”
They had many selections to choose from, and I dived right in. I enjoyed trying the Crunch Crunch (panko shrimp, avocado, cucumber japanese spicy sauce), Classic Cali (crab, English cucumber, avocado) and Maki Sliders. Yes, they even have other options on the menu for people like me. I also got a chance to chat with Jennifer Mims, the president of the company. Mims said they loved the area and wanted to bring something new and fresh.
I loved the bright green decor and seating areas and the fact that you can eat inside or outside. I went around and asked people how they were enjoying their food, and mostly everyone said it was very tasty. Oh, one more thing that I really enjoyed was the Strawberry Green Tea Lemonade.
