This Aug. 28 marks the 48th anniversary of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech and the unveiling of the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
The GM Foundation and Chevrolet are partnering with The Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial Foundation to help raise awareness around the unveiling with the “Table of Brotherhood” tour in Atlanta, which will be moderated by CNN analyst Roland Martin.
Confirmed panelists include Morehouse College alumni filmmaker Spike Lee and rolling out’s publisher Munson Steed; bestselling author Lisa Nichols; and GM’s director of Corporate Relations and president of the GM Foundation Vivian Pickard – who will discuss relevant topics that harness Dr. King’s message and legacy including: “The Future of Education”; “Realizing the Dream: Freedom, Racism and Progress”; “The Future of our Youth”; and “Civil Rights Progress: A Look Back/A Look Forward”.
The event is free and open to the public and will be held at the Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel on the campus of Morehouse College. Doors open at 2 p.m on Saturday, August 6, 2011.
