Tupac Shakur’s iconic catalog of music has been raking in major bucks since his tragic death in 1996. But as interest grows in the late rapper’s recently discovered sex tape, ‘Pac stands to generate another substantial posthumous check after a bidder recently offered up $1,000,000 for the unreleased song heard playing in the background of the sex tape.
According to TMZ, the CEO of NOHO, an anti-hangover drink, wants to purchase all of the rights to the unreleased song and is willing to pay above and beyond the initial bidding war of $150,000 and shell out the hefty check for the privilege.
It’s unclear as to who exactly owns the track but if the CEO does purchase the ‘Pac song, which has only been heard by TMZ and the sex tape owner, he plans to use the track as the official theme song for his beverage company.
However, he’s got one big road block in his way. As previously reported, Shakur’s mother, Afeni Shakur, revealed that lawyers working on behalf of the Shakur estate are looking for the owner of the sex tape and insisted that any person or company who sells the sex tape will be met with a lawsuit.
Though any unreleased music from 2Pac would be warmly welcomed by his fans, neither the release of his sex tape nor an endorsement from NOHO would be a positive benefit to anyone other than those wanting to prosper from his immortal fame. –nicholas robinson
