Social activisim and volunteerism:
It should be required, or at least strongly implored, for members of the church to donate time back to their congregation or community. Once upon a time, being an activist and speaking articulately to address the myriad problems besetting the black community was considered “cool” and “hip.” We need our leaders to help bring that “cool” factor back into the fold and show how collectivism and cooperative economics benefits them and the whole instead of tolerating the “me-myself-and-I” mentality so prevalent today.
