Tiffany Moore has been a masterful mane manager ever since she came up in her old stomps halfway across the country in St. Louis. Barely a teenager, Moore was taming and training troubled tresses out of her mother’s home, which led to her founding the Atlanta-based Sister to Sister Hair Salon and Glam Team.
Handling hair is practically a genetic gift that passed down from her mother and flowed through the veins of both Moore’s sisters, Sheree Moore and Tameka “LaToi” Lester. “I was born with a styling comb in my hand,” says Moore. “For as long as I can remember hair has always been my first love. I remember being 9 years old and inviting my friends to my room to play beauty shop.”
Today, a styling comb has become a natural extension of the sisters’ hands and the coiffure connoisseurs who run Sister to Sister Hair Salon and Glam Team in the suburban Atlanta city of Tucker, Ga. (www.sis2sishairdesigns.com; https://facebook.com/sistertosisterhairdesign; 678-683-4043)
The sisters give a new meaning to laying hands on heads. Then again, these women will be the first to tell you that their gifts are divinely inspired.
What’s most interesting is that each sister had to circumnavigate in a sort of circuitous route through other industries before reconnecting here in Atlanta and opening Sister to Sister. Let’s take a quick look at each sister’s journey into hair heaven.
