Curren$y: ‘The Stoned Immaculate’ Album Review

Curren$y: 'The Stoned Immaculate' Album Review

Curren$y‘s much-anticipated album, The Stoned Immaculate, consists of airy, whimsical and smooth tunes under vivid rhymes by the ‘Jet Life’ pilot himself.

This album is a smoker’s paradise, with star- studded features from artists such as Marsha Ambrosius, Wale, 2 Chainz, Estelle, Pharrell, and of course Wiz Khalifa.

Curren$y‘s relaxed and confident demeanor is reflected in The Stoned Immaculate.  Filled with jet life chants and sounds of inhalation, the songs are easily repeatable without giving you a hip hop headache.  The backdrop allows you to concentrate on his actual lyrics and not just the sound of the beat.

Songs like “What It look like” feat Wale, “Armoire” feat Young Roddy and Trademark,  and “Showroom” cover the expected topics of money, success, and smoking.  Songs such as “Take You There” feat. Marsha Ambrosius, “That’s the Thing” feat. Estelle and “Chandelier”, show a softer side of Curren$y as he shares his feelings about maintaining a relationship with someone while he’s grinding to reach success.

Pharrell appears on “Chasin papers,” a Neptunes produced track, that unfortunately, didn’t stand out among the others tracks on the album. On the other hand, Curren$y‘s comrade, Wiz Khalifa, definitely showed up on “No Squares” and “Jet Life.”

The Stoned Immaculate is definitely a cohesive album that brought together a lot of today’s talent for a worthy effort.
