With the release date of their “R&B Divas” reality show quickly approaching, five singer-songwriters are kicking promotion into high gear. Faith Evans, Nicci Gilbert, Syleena Johnson, Monifah and Keke Wyatt, collectively known as the R&B Divas, will sing their way onto television screens Aug.20. On their TV One show, the ladies will strive to keep things more positive than other reality programs with a penchant for beverage throwing and street scuffles. With that in mind, a trailer has been released for “Divas” giving background on each lady’s unique story. Included in the trailer are heated debates about spouses who overstep their boundaries, a lesbian love scandal and a collective tribute to Whitney Houston that almost didn’t happen.
