Although he’s known for shirtless dread-shaking performances, an Atlanta rapper donned a suit Thursday, Sept. 27, for a one-of-a-kind celebration. Waka Flocka, 26, was spotted at the city’s Ventanas rooftop space where he flew in via helicopter and looked dapper in a black ensemble accented by a red tie.
Symbolic of his Brick Squad Monopoly Records, the colors were also worn by several of the artists under the umbrella including Wooh Da Kid, D-Bo, Dirt Gang, Fetti Gang, Money Mouse and Haitian French. Playing host to the evening of luxury, Flocka and his Brick Squad affiliates offered guest a premium open bar, cigar station, human sushi models and fire breathers for the invited guests. When rollingout asked the rapper, who usually prefers a more casual setting, why all the stops were necessary, Flocka replied, “It’s just something classy to show the maturity in the label and the company.”
The “mature” men of Brick Squad Monopoly certainly looked the part. Rapper Gucci Mane remained virtually silent, but stood confidently by his partner in crime’s side in the required red-and-black attire of the night. And while neither Waka nor the rap team performed, Flocka is preparing for a 47 city tour that kicks off Oct. 2 in Norfolk, Va. with stops in Pennsylvania and Louisiana. Until then, however, fans eager to hear a message from the now suited and booted rap star should enjoy this shout out:”I love y’all, ya’ll got me where I’m at,” said Flame to his fan base. “Thank you!” Before walking away, Waka made sure to add in his signature catchphrase.”Squad!,” he said with a smile.
Flocka’s Salute Me Or Shoot Me 4 mixtape is currently available for download. It features his”No Hands” collaborators Roscoe Dash and Wale as well as Gucci Mane and Trae Tha Truth.
