Wayne K. Brown, a beloved and influential member of Atlanta’s media community, has passed away. He lost his battle with cancer.
With more than three decades of experience in broadcasting and marketing, Brown was recently tapped by Streetz 94.5 FM, Atlanta’s new Hip-Hop Station, to serve as their general manager. Brown also served as senior partner and associate publisher of Who’s Who publishing company. Prior, he worked as a regional VP and GM for the Charlotte and Atlanta markets of Radio One Inc. and for 13 years at CBS Headquarters in New York City for CBS network TV and radio.
A recipient of a number of awards, Brown has a scholarship in his name at his alma mater, Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Communications, for minority students.
The Washington, D.C,. native was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and 100 Black Men of America.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Neysa, and two sons –Dylan and Drew.
