How did you know you wanted to be a comedian?

When I was in grade school everyone told me I was funny. My teachers, my family,  just everyone. I knew then that maybe I had a chance at comedy.

Tell us about your new movie, Silver Lining Playbook.

I play a character by the name of Danny. He is a mental patient that gets released from a mental institution with actor Bradley Cooper and it gets quite interesting after that.

Where did you get sense of humor from?

Wow, my whole family is very funny! I think my mom is the funniest lady of all.

For young people out there who dream of being a comedian, what advice can you give them? Have you ever bombed on stage?

You have to get up on that stage. The audience will definitely let you know if you have what it takes. No, I can honestly say that I have never bombed on stage.

Are you ever going to do a sequel to the movie Friday with Ice Cube?

We have talked about it, [but] nothing is written in stone yet.
