On Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, also World AIDS Day, The Ultimate Runway Fashion Show kicked off their 10-city tour at The Ensemble Theatre in Houston. The Ultimate Runway Fashion Show visits urban areas highly affected by the HIV/AIDS virus.
“We chose Houston as our kick off city because according to our research, Houston has the most cases reported in the Urban community,” stated Anne Grimsley, founder of The Ultimate Runway Fashion Show.
The fashion show was hosted by Bravo’s “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star and style purveyor, Dwight Eubanks; and the founder of LAMIK Beauty, Kim Roxie. In addition to a night of fashion, attendees had the opportunity to take advantage of FREE HIV/AIDS testing during the event provided by Positive Efforts Inc., which will also receive a portion of the proceeds.
Positive Efforts Inc. (PE) was established in 1999 in response to the growing need for African Americans to receive culturally competent HIV/AIDS-related services.
