Justin Bieber may still be one of America’s most beloved and adorable young pop stars, but that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t have enemies or worse — obsessive and maniacal fans. It was recently discovered that cops foiled the plan of a deranged fan who plotted to murder Bieber.
According to KRQE News 13, convicted murder Dana Martin, who is currently serving two life sentences for raping and murdering a 15-year-old girl in Vermont in 2000, recruited his fellow Las Cruces prison inmate, Mark Staake, to help him kill Bieber and three other people.
Martin met Staake in prison and recruited him to carry out four murders once he got out of prison. Staake later recruited his nephew, Tanner Ruane, to help him carry out the murders. Cops say that Staake and Ruane planned to murder Bieber after they killed two acquaintances in Vermont.
However, the big scheme was killing Bieber. Police say that Martin was obsessed with Beiber and he even has a tattoo of Bieber on his leg. Staake and Ruane planned to abduct Beiber last month at his show at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Staake and Ruane planned to take Bieber’s bodyguard as well, and Martin ordered them to strangle both Bieber and his bodyguard with paisley ties, which is Martin’s calling card. Ruane was also ordered to castrate the two men.
However, Staake was arrested in Vermont on outstanding warrants before he could carry out any of the murders, but his nephew was let go.
Their murderous plan would have gone undetected, but, in a surprise move, Martin contacted police and informed them of his plot to kill Bieber. Police recorded calls between Martin and Staake, in which Staake expressed his disappointment in not being able to kill Bieber. New York police subsequently arrested Ruane and found murder tools and pruning shears on him.
