Are there better Prince albums? Definitely. But even as a “throwaway,” this soundtrack to Tim Burton’s visionary 1989 film works better than you would think. Released on the tail-end of one of the greatest album runs in the history of popular music, this soundtrack features at least two late-80s era masterworks from the Purple One: infectious rave-up “Partyman,” and the bedroom-friendly “Scandalous.”
