The 10 'coldest' MCs in hip-hop

Everyone seems to have an opinion regarding MTV’s latest “10 Hottest MCs In the Game” list.

Of course, that’s to be expected. In this era of the uber-sensitive rapper, was anyone surprised that stars ranging from the iconic Kanye West to the on-the-rise Danny Brown took exception to MTV’s rankings? But one thing about “Hot” lists–they’re a testament to your popularity at the moment, not your overall greatness. And just because you’re hot in 2013, doesn’t mean your career can’t go ice-cold by 2014.

So in that positive spirit (sarcasm), we decided to rank the “10 Coldest MCs In the Game,” those rappers who have been to the mountaintop, only to watch their popularity take a slow descent into the bargain basement–or in the case of some, a straight up nose-dive into complete obscurity.

And it should be noted that this is not a “10 Wackest Rappers” list–although there could definitely be some overlap. Some of these guys are actually talented. They’ve just lost a lot of their buzz. And that doesn’t mean they can’t get it back. You actually may be rooting for a couple of them to turn things around this year.

Either way, here are the 10 Coldest MCs In the Game Right Now
