As a new artist do you find it hard to distinguish your brand from other male artists?

Not really. I have a strong sense of who I am as an individual and what I want to portray through my artistry. Knowing this, I feel like there is a clear distinction between myself and many artists out there, this will become more apparent as you hear more from me. It’s really important to me as a musician, to have people listen to my music and automatically understand the uniqueness in my artistry. In my opinion, you have to believe there’s a need for what you are bringing, as it’s something that no one else can deliver but you.

Your recent single is titled “On the Way,” what sets it apart from your former musical works?

I’ve just slowly been making the transition from rapper to R&B singer and “On the Way” is the first single off my upcoming R&B EP, titled 1956. It’s the first R&B single that I have ever released so it’s something very new to my fans, but it shouldn’t be a shocker because I’ve been singing hooks since the beginning of my career.

How would you describe your musical style?

It depends on what day you catch me on. I just wrote a crazy joint to the Dead Presidents beat that would make people draw comparisons to J. Cole and Joey Bada$$, but tomorrow I’m recording a song that reminds me of Justin Timberlake’s “Senorita.” Very few people create music on as broad of a scale as I do, but it’s just who I am as an artist and a writer. I don’t limit myself, but I don’t force myself either, and I  always go with what comes natural in my organic space.

What sets you apart from other artists who are out right now?

What sets me apart is the fact that I’m not following trends or doing what’s popular, I’m staying true to my musical identity and am very confident in being able to stand out amongst many.
