During the mid to late 1980s, Faye Copeland and her husband, Ray, killed at least five drifters by shooting them in the back of the head. The pair were remain the oldest serial killer team on the books (she was 69 and he 76 at the time of the sentencing) and were both handed the death penalty when convicted of their crimes in 1991, though Faye Copeland’s sentence was eventually reduced, leaving her to die in prison in 2003.
