chicago

An employee at Dunbar Career Academy High School in Chicago could face serious charges after pushing a female student.
According to reports, a worker who was hired as a security guard by private firm got into an altercation with the girl who is currently a sophomore.

A video of the altercation was recorded on a cell phone. On the video, the security guard pushed the girl down a flight of stairs and yelled expletives at her as she laid on the floor. A woman, who is likely a teacher, helped the girl to her feet. But once the teen got up, the man returned and pushed or punched the girl down again.

The security guard has been suspended from the school following the incident. The girl’s family has hired an attorney and could sue the school district or private firm that the security guard works for.

It’s amazing how this article does not tell both sides of the story, As a CPS teacher, I am faced with disrespect and being degraded by the most vile of Chicago’s youth. At least 3/4 of all the students that we face on a daily basis swear at their teachers and try to intimidate them, both boys and girls. And they treat the Substitute teacher even worse. Please tell me, when did today’s students earn the right to call their teacher , “Boy” or the “N” word (to a white teacher even) or to their teachers to “leave me the f..k alone”, dont talk to me-Bi.ch….The students don’t care about how they treat school staff, because their parents don’t care enough to teach their own kids about respect , manners , and how to behave in school yet alone in public. They yell at teachers, disrupt classes, starts fights because because someone looked in their direction. They will not do any work, but it’s the parents who blame the teachers for their kids failing because they do not want to admit how they have failed as parents.
I have no doubt that this security officer was trying to break up a fight who a known trouble maker and she then attacked him , forcing him to defend himself. But, unfortunately they were on the stairs…If he was the one who was pushed or fell down the stairs – this girl and others would not have lost a second and would have started laughing at him and dancing around him, instead of someone trying to help him.
