On his new album, Magna Carta Holy Grail, dropping on July 9, Jay-Z created a single titled “Jay-Z Blue,” which is a lyrical metaphor that best describe his feeling of “paranoia” at being a first-time dad to daughter, Blue Ivy.
“[She’s] something that we both created. We still marvel at her, Jay-Z says to long time business associate Rick Rubin in a Samsung commercial.
“My pop left when I was young, so he didn’t teach me to be a man, or how to raise a child or how to treat a woman. Of course my karma, the two things I need, I don’t have. I have a daughter. It’s the paranoia of not being a great dad.”
