No. 2 Low End Theory by A Tribe Called Quest (1991)

A lo-fi masterpiece. Tribe’s second album is so laid-back, you may miss it’s genius the first time you listen. But no rap album has ever captured the essence of cool jazz better than this, and Tip and Phife’s wordplay was witty and playfully unique. A distinctly understated classic that all music fans should own.
