Six-year-old, Ahlittia North, who was missing last week was found dead in a dumpster. Her body was found this week near the apartment complex where she lived with her family. The girl’s mother Lisa North recalls putting her to bed at 11 p.m. and the next morning she was gone. North reported the missing child to police after realizing she wasn’t in her room the next morning. Little Ahlittia, her toothbrush and her blanket were gone.
A memorial was created near the home with stuffed animals, cards and balloons after neighbors heard the news.
After calling Matthew Flugence, 20, a “person of interest,” police have now arrested him as a suspect. Flugence is a relative of the girl and often babysat her for her mom and stepdad. In April 2013, an arrest warrant was issued for Flugence in connection with the sexual battery of an 11-year-old in Harvey, Louisiana.
