NYC has over 425,000 residents living in NYCHA developments. Several hundred thousand do not live in NYCHA developments but receive a housing subsidy from NYCHA. As candidates seek to lead the city, it is important for them to understand the plight of all New Yorkers. Thus, the candidates’ “sleep over” at Lincoln Houses (60 East 135th Street at Park Avenue, Harlem, NY) will bring attention to the conditions of NYCHA developments and give candidates for mayor an opportunity to experience these conditions firsthand.
