For years, Rutina Wesley’s “True Blood” character Tara Thornton has had terrible luck when it comes to love. Now, it seems like life is imitating art as Wesley recently filed for divorce from her husband of eight years, fellow actor Jacob Fishel.
According to People and TMZ, the divorce papers were filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Aug. 16. Wesley cites irreconcilable differences as the reason for the divorce and asked a judge to deny any requests for spousal support.
Wesley and Fishel met when they were both students at Julliard and married when they graduated in June 2005.
It’s unfortunate news for Fishel but she’s certainly not the only star going through a major breakup. Check out some other recent celebrity divorces below. – nicholas robinson
