Michael Bruce Seach, 49, has been charged with forcible sodomy and object rape, both first-degree felonies in Utah, as well as possession of a weapon by a restricted person, a third-degree felony. In a very strange case, Seach was allegedly blackmailing his wife’s ex-husband for the past 10 months. He demanded money from the unnamed victim in exchange to remain silent about information he obtained from the victim’s former wife, Seach’s current wife. The victim even signed over the title to his car to Seach.

“Through that relationship, the suspect had gained some information on the victim and was using that information to extort him for money. And then had eventually used that information to extort him for the sexual assault and then had threatened his life if he did not participate,” Riverdale Police Lt. James Ebert tells press.

When the victim declined his sexual advances, Seach threatened his life. Seach allegedly terrorized the victim up until his final act, sexually assaulting him at a Motel 6.

He managed to escape, running to the lobby where officers found him with a blindfold still around his neck.
