Donald Barton has been designated a hero. A bus driver for Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority in the city of Buffalo, N.Y., saved a woman from jumping off the Route 198 Delaware pedestrian overpass. Mayor Byron Brown issued a proclamation in his honor and real estate magnate Donald Trump gave him $10,000 for this act of humanity.
Brown presented Barton the check during the ceremony, which was accompanied by a thank-you letter.
“The entire thing, not just my actions, but the actions of the passengers, the corrections officer and the counselor that showed up, it was a team effort. … I couldn’t do it without the team,” Barton said.
