Hip-Hop battles over which coast is the raining region are nothing new when it comes to rap, but usually those battles are fought by the top dogs of each coast. However, yesterday, New York and Atlanta collided when Maino threatened Trinidad James after the Atlanta rapper claimed that his hometown runs dominates New York and the rest of the hip-hop scene.
According to HipHopDX, During Trinidad James’ performance at the Converse Rubber Tracks show in New York City, the ATL MC claimed that Atlanta’s signature sound reigns supreme in New York and all NY MCs should, well, bow down to that way of thinking.
“I remember when New York ran this s—, dog,” Trinidad James said. “When Dipset was f—– turned the f— up. Oh my God. I gotta wear my bandana on tilt like Juelz. What the f— happened, dog? What happened? I remember when New York rap was the s—. And us in the South, us bammas, we was like ‘what the f—’ and we just did our own thing. But now we run y’all musically. That’s crazy. That’s crazy. That’s crazy, my n—-. That’s crazy. I’m not trying to start nothing, but if you want to do something we can do something cause I don’t give a f—. I looked up to New York music. And now every n—- that’s really poppin’ out of New York, you might as well tell they from Atlanta. ‘He from Atlanta. He from Atlanta. He from Atlanta.’ I’m just putting it out there. Y’all got more bloggers—y’all got n—– interviewing more popular than n—– that’s rapping,” said James.
Well, once Maino got wind of James’ comments, he quickly took to Twitter to send off a slew of digital disses and threats in James’ direction.
“S/O to all the NY n—– who let this Rotten Teeth n—- @TrinidadJamesGG disrespect us lastnite! #whathappened.”
“after we clean this guy @trinidadjamesGG up I’m straighten a few of u NY n—– out for being the Vaginas that u R!”
“Heyy buddy @trinidadjamesGG I’ll be ur Huckleberry! Lol imma brush those teeth when I see u baby boy. U a street n—- rite? Lmao.”
“Somebody wake @TAXSTONE up tell’em this nasty mouth n—- @TrinidadJamesGG is on the menu. #whathappened”
Well, Trinidad James didn’t take to kindly to Maino’s comments either and he left the NY rapper a message of his own on both Twitter and Instagram. Find out what he said to Maino after the cut. – nicholas robinson
