At first we could give MTV a pass for the original and even the second series of “Teen Mom,” a reality show delving into the dysfunctional lives and relationships of teenage couples who had become parents before they got their diplomas. For anyone who didn’t understand the obvious difficulties of being a teen parent, the show was probably a great wake-up call. But by the time MTV decided to make a third series of the show, things had just become too over dramatic and it went from exposing harsh realities to perpetuating dysfunction. Thankfully, the show was canceled.
