A powerful new strain of weed has been developed by Seattle pot grower Nate “Diggity” Johnson, who owns a marijuana dispensary. The strain is called “Beast Mode,” and Johnson says it was inspired by Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch.

According to Analytical 360,  Beast Mode has a THC content of 17.61 percent, making it quite powerful compared to other strains, which range between 12-20 percent. Johnson stated he named the strain Beast Mode because a patient tried one hit and exclaimed “it hits you like a beast.” The cost of the drug at the Queen Anne Cannabis Club is a $13 per gram donation. Because the club is a collective, it is not allowed to technically sell pot but accepts donations to get around this legality.

Because of Lynch’s powerful plays on the field, he is known as “Beast Mode” by fans.

Some have called the upcoming Super Bowl the “Pot Bowl” because the states where both teams are from allow recreational use of marijuana. Beast Mode is the first strain of weed named after a Seahawks player. Medicinal use of marijuana for NFL players was discussed by the NFL commissioner in early January 2014.
