Former Cooking Channel host, Darryl Robinson, found dead

Also known as DR Mixologist, Darrly Robinson, 50, was discovered dead Wednesday morning from unknown causes. After a concerned friend called authorities, police entered Robinson’s home where they found the former Cooking Channel star fully clothed, lying face down on his bed.

“Authorities say the cause of death is still pending an autopsy, but there didn’t appear to be any signs of forced entry or trauma.

‘At learning of the sad news, our thoughts go out to Darryl’s family & friends,’ says a Cooking Channel spokesperson.

Robinson’s assistant shared the news with his fans on Facebook, saying he was “full of light and charisma.”

Robinson, who is best known for crafting specialty cocktails from around the world, first got his start behind the bar at his childhood home where his family liked to entertain. He later perfected his craft while studying at The College of William & Mary as a part time bartender at the King’s Arms Tavern in Williamsburg, Va.

Following graduation in 2005, Darryl moved to New York City where he landed a gig at Hudson Bar at the Hudson Hotel and became the host of “Drink Up” in 2010.
