MTV’s “Teen Wolf” series has been praised for years for its inclusion of gay characters and storylines, and now the show is reportedly adding its first black gay character to the series when season four premieres later this year.

According to E!, actor Khylin Rhambo, who previously acted in the film Ender’s Game, will join the cast as freshman Mason, who will be a part of the school’s lacrosse team. The report describes Mason as “funny” and “out, but not your stereotypical gay character.”

Speculation has now begun over whether Mason will play a new friend or love interest of the show’s longest running gay character, Danny Māhealani, who is played by Hawaiian actor Keahu Kahuanui, and has had a rocky love life for the past two seasons.

No further details have been revealed about the character of Mason but he’ll surely add an entertaining new element into the mix during season four.
